Nihon Series 7 : Kasugai Gospel Hall

The highlight of my trip - attended Japanese church! Woohooo..

  • Church name is Kasugai (town name ..) Gospel Hall
  • Almost 45mins train journey, with one train line change (great challenge for me, but overcame it)
  • Kaori-san (my colleague, she speaks excellent slanglish English) is the church elder's daughter. Long and embarassing story bout how we met but it was worth it!
  • Small church, with a congregation of 15 members (total 3 families)
  • Service was held at home in the dining and hall area
  • Stayed over for lunch (but declined dinner offer .. )
  • Had an impromptu Q&A session (instead of their weekly hymns singing session)..with the Japs interviewing me, a Malaysian Christian & Kaori-san as my translator
  • Wanted to sing "Bagaikan Bejana" but forgottten the lyrics halfway *embarrassed*

Nihon Series 6 : My temporary home

AB Hotel was my home for 22 nights.

This is how the surrounding looks like, gives me a Paris-y feeling with the gardens and roundabout.

Mikawa-Anjo Station
Here's where I catch my daily train to work, just 1 minute walk away from the hotel.

Welcome to my room.

This is my bed (notice skunky?).

The dresser with broadband tv, laptop - my connection to Malaysia, hoto

The bathroom .. got spray function, company's one got dryer function, even cunner.

Nihon Series 5 : Places I Visited

1. Higashiyama Zoo
Went with me colleagues; Jolin (OJT-ing at Denso Wave, Japan), her hubby Edmund & Lawrence (from Denso Singapore).

Highlight was that there was a Japanese animal, serow (first time ..) named after me. Haha.

2. Higashiyama Tower
Japan is famous for their towers, total there are 19 of them all over Japan. And I've visted two of 'em already. This is my 2nd one.

3. Osu
Japanese flea market. Cun-ness.

4. Sakae
More shopping. Enjoyed shopping at Daiso, the 100 yen (equivalent to RM3.20) shop.
Saw one dead durian on sale for Rm150 ~

Nihon Series 4 : The Weather

It's almost the end of winter wonderland minus the snow of course (but it did rained snowflakes once). There's a temperature tower nearby my hotel, viewable from my room window - lowest I've experienced 1C & highest 14C.

The temperature tower viewable from my room

I look like this before I leave my room ...

I had rashes on my thighs too, too cold for me :( Still itching till now.

No chance to see sakura (cheery blossom) bloom unless I stay on for another week. Nah, I'd rather be home (malas wanna do laundry...)

Nihon Series 3 : Food I tasted & enjoyed

1. Takoyaki (Octopus Ball)
Had this four times! The best is Gindako brand @ Osu Town.

2. Mc Donalds
Had this twice, bout Rm24 for a medium set. Tasted their Italian Chicken Sandwish & Teriyaki Burger. Milkshake is cheap & yummylicious.

3. Kentucky Fried Chicken
Different kind of set; we ordered two piece chickens, scones (or biscuits as they call it) with maple syrup & coleslaw. Cost us Rm24 too!

4. Cup Noodles & Egg
My daily weekday dinner menu.

5. Strawberries
It's winter ma!

6. Japanese Dinner Set
With my colleagues at my farewell dinner (welcome dinner was with big boss, so I daren't take any pics). Enjoyed everything (tempura, assorted pickle set, seashells soup, hot sake & Kirin Japanese beer) except the sashimi (yuckyss) ..

Nihon Series 2 : People I Met

1. Colleagues at Denso Wave, Kariya

    Group Photo
(just so ngam .. stole this photo from the Denso Japan mag .. glamour me huh?)

Fujiwara-san (my derating sifu, clown and SX joker..)

Hayakawa-san (5S will never mean the same to me again...)

    Okamura-san (my sinseh ..) & Sumiyoshi-san

    2. Jolin - partner in-crime at workplace, shopping partner, makan partner, tourist guide

    3. Kaori-chan (the Jap Christian colleague, lenglui huh?)

    4. Mari-chan (Kaori-chan's 2nd sister, can't speak English well, yet still wanna chat lotz)

    5. Kasugai Gospel Hall Church Members
    6. Denso Tennessee Kwailos (Jimmy, Guy2 & Guy3)
No photos (paiseh to ask.. later scare them), but met them while onboard train to Nagoya. Friendly. Said I could speak good English & was brave to be travelling alone. Don't know where Malaysia is...

    7. Philippino Grandma
Friendly me approached her while waiting for train. She's just a tourist.

    8. Train Masters
Sorry, I spilled my Mc D cola and dirtied your station.

    9. Hotel Receptionist
    Sorry, I can't un Japanese.

and many2 cashiers and train commuters I brush shoulders with daily. Miss you much, but I miss Malaysia more ;)

    Nihon Series 1 : Thanksgiving

Thanks Be to Thee O God, that ...

    • I had the chance to visit Aichi, Japan (nearest city is Nagoya) again under Denso's expense, probably the last ;)
    • I survived 3 weeks "alone" without familliar friends & family, and no Chinese characters background (similar to Japanese Kanji characters)
    • I achieved the 3 main and many2 sub-sub goals set by bossy ;) (no pain no gain .. )
    • He blest me with a girlfriend to keep me company on weekends and vice versa
    • I met a Japanese Christian colleague and visited her church! (more great stories ahead...)
    • Friends continued to gambateh me, keep me in prayer & company
    • My perception of workaholic Japanese took a 180 degrees turn
    • It snowed slightly on the last week I was there (something abnormal as it's just one week away to spring)
    • The slight tremor felt on departure day wasn't a serious one
    • Was safe from a close-call accident on the way to airport (blur taxi driver)
    • Luggage did not exceed the permitted 20kg, it was just 18.7kg. Otherwise gonna cost me a bomb!
    • On return flight, I was upgraded to Business Class. Muahahah, due to overbooking. I was pampered like a pwincess (syiok giler ..)
    • Now, mum & dad are cyber savvy, they learnt how to chat online with webcam
    • And, hmm, suddenly felt this strong urge to migrate to Japan. Haha. (just kidding ...)
