Never knew IT'LL happen to me till ... 13 Feb 2003

(a hard lesson I learnt from yesteryears, wrote this in my journal .. )

Just thought I'd share my most unforgettable-nightmarish experience with you. As many may have known, I was robbed on this faithful day at around 10.50am at knife point.

I lost my beloved "Denso Babe" handphone, IC, driving licence, Celcom & Hotlink SIM Card, ATM Card, credit card, MMU Student Card, AAM Membership Card, 2 Tesco Foodcourt Cards, Touch n'Go, 2003 Guess Calender, RealRewards, "The Cross in my pocket" memo & many other sentimental value items :( The physical lost may be a lot (sentimental value, that is) but the emotional and spiritual gain was bountiful (AMEN!).

Reflecting back, I really thank GOD that

• it happened when friends were nearby. I managed to cancel & block all access to my important documents in mere 30 minutes
• I did not faint during the "robbery process" - what not with the sight of knife & blood
• HE blinded their eyes from seeing my gold bracelet (a gift from my late Ah Ma) - am no longer wearing it now
• there were no serious injury except for the 2cm cut on my right ring finger (quite a deep one, the doc wanted to stitch it up so that the wound will heal faster, but I refused :D had to give in to the tetanus jab though :()
• I was able to control myself & the car when I did a "heroic" thing by chasing after them honking away like a "siao po"
• HE "shook" me up - the world is no longer safe, crime rate in Klang is rising
  
• I was able to get a replacement for my 012 SIM card back with ALL the reloaded value
• now, I have an inspector friend
• I have many caring & supportive people around me :)

Of course, it'll take me months or even years to recover from this trauma ... but after counting the cost, I still think it was worth it. I asked and imagined a lot of "IF ONLYs" too ...

My word of advice to everyone out there especially the LADIES (sounds like one of those forwarded emails eh?) : Whenever possible, try not to be alone (eg. driving, in lifts, carpark, petrol station, ATM). If alone, you have to more alert - constantly be on the lookout for suspicious looking characters.
